Analytical thinking refers to the ability to think critically about the world around us.
Reasoning is our ability to think logically about a situation. Analytical and reasoning skills are important because they help us solve problems and look for solutions.
The subject Mathematics helps us have better problem-solving skills.
Effective, continuous learning revolves around a combination of several holistic approaches we call the Four Es: education, experience, exposure, and environment.
Both Humanities and Social Science study human beings, our cultures, and societies. However, Humanities have a subjective, critical-thinking or opinion-based approach.

🏆 Students of BCA, CS, and BBA Departments Win Overall Trophy at Hindustan College

சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பு – மாணவர் கருத்தரங்கம்
தமிழ்த்துறை சார்பாக “சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பு – மாணவர் கருத்தரங்கம்” நடைபெற்றது. இக்கருத்தரங்கத்தின் நோக்கம் மாணவர்களிடையே சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பின் அவசியத்தை உணர்த்தி, பசுமையான வாழ்க்கை முறைகளை வளர்த்திடுதல் ஆகும்.
மாணவர்கள் உற்சாகமாக பங்கேற்று, காடழிப்பு, காற்று மற்றும் நீர் மாசு, காலநிலை மாற்றம், கழிவு மேலாண்மை போன்ற தலைப்புகளில் தங்கள் கருத்துகளை பகிர்ந்தனர். மேலும், மரநடுகை, பிளாஸ்டிக் ஒழிப்பு, நீர் சேமிப்பு, புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க ஆற்றல் பயன்பாடு போன்ற நடைமுறைகள் குறித்து வலியுறுத்தினர்.
இந்த கருத்தரங்கம் மாணவர்களின் சிந்தனையைத் தூண்டி, சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பில் அவர்கள் பொறுப்புணர்வுடன் செயல்பட ஊக்கமளித்தது. கலந்துரையாடல் முடிவில், அனைவரும் பசுமை சூழலை பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும் என்ற உறுதிமொழியுடன் நிறைவு பெற்றது.
இந்நிகழ்வு மாணவர்கள் புதிய சிந்தனைகளைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளும் ஒரு பயனுள்ள மேடையாக அமைந்ததுடன், பசுமையான எதிர்காலத்தை உருவாக்குவதில் இளைஞர்களின் பங்கை வலியுறுத்தியது.
The Department of English of our college organized “Words & Wonders 2K25 – Where Words Find Wings”, a vibrant literary fest that celebrated the power of language, creativity, and expression. The event aimed at enhancing students’ communication skills, fostering a love for reading, and encouraging them to explore the wonders of words.
The fest featured the following competitions:

Importance of Reading (Speech Contest): Students highlighted the value of reading in shaping knowledge, imagination, and personal growth. The speeches inspired peers to cultivate the habit of regular reading.

Word Building: A fun and intellectually stimulating activity where participants showcased their vocabulary skills by forming maximum words within a given time frame.

Proverb-based Dumb Charades: A lively game in which students enacted well-known English proverbs through gestures, while their teammates guessed them. The activity created an engaging and entertaining atmosphere.
The competitions saw enthusiastic participation from II & III year students across all departments.
The program concluded with a note of appreciation by the Head of the Department, who emphasized that such literary events not only enrich language skills but also instill confidence and creativity among students.
“Words & Wonders 2K25” truly lived up to its tagline ‘Where Words Find Wings’, leaving an inspiring mark on both participants and the audience.
தமிழ் பாரம்பரிய கலைத் திருவிழா – அறிக்கை
எங்கள் கல்லூரி தமிழ் துறை ஏற்பாட்டில் “தமிழ் பாரம்பரிய கலைத் திருவிழா” விழா சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. மாணவர்களின் திறமைகளைக் கலை வடிவில் வெளிப்படுத்தி, பாரம்பரிய கலாச்சாரத்தை முன்னிறுத்தும் நோக்குடன் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் பின்வரும் போட்டிகள் நடைபெற்றன:

நடனம் – மாணவர்கள் பாரம்பரிய மற்றும் நாட்டுப்புற நடனங்களை அரங்கேற்றி அனைவரையும் கவர்ந்தனர்.

பாடல் – இனிய குரலில் மாணவர்கள் தமிழ்ப் பாரம்பரியப் பாடல்களை பாடி நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு இனிமையை சேர்த்தனர்.

வரைகலை – தமிழ் கலாச்சாரம், மரபு, பழக்கவழக்கங்களை மையமாகக் கொண்டு மாணவர்கள் அழகிய ஓவியங்களை வரைந்தனர்.

நாடகம் – தமிழ் இலக்கியம் மற்றும் பாரம்பரிய வாழ்வியல் மதிப்புகளை பிரதிபலிக்கும் சிறந்த நாடகங்கள் மேடையேற்றப்பட்டன.

கருத்தரங்கு– மாணவர்கள் தமிழ்ப் பாரம்பரியக் கலை, அதன் வளர்ச்சி, மற்றும் இன்றைய தலைமுறைக்கு அதன் தேவைகள் குறித்து உரையாற்றினர்.
இந்த தமிழ் பாரம்பரிய கலைத் திருவிழா, மாணவர்களிடையே பாரம்பரியக் கலைப்பற்று மற்றும் தமிழ்மொழி மீதான அன்பை வளர்க்கும் விதமாக சிறப்பாக அமைய, அனைவராலும் பாராட்டப்பட்டது.
The Department of English organized an engaging literary event titled “Language Lumina 2k25” for all first-year students across various departments. The event was designed to provide a creative platform for students to showcase their linguistic skills and artistic expression through three exciting competitions – Frame Your Flair – Story Telling, Tongue Twister, and Poetry Writing.
The Story Telling competition allowed participants to unleash their imagination and narrate captivating tales, reflecting their originality and narrative flair. The Tongue Twister session brought an element of fun and spontaneity, testing the students’ pronunciation, articulation, and quick-thinking abilities. The Poetry Writing competition provided an avenue for budding poets to weave words into meaningful verses, showcasing creativity and depth of thought.
Students from all departments actively participated, displaying their enthusiasm and hidden talents. The event encouraged confidence building, sharpened communication skills, and highlighted the power of language as a tool of expression.
The program concluded with the announcement of winners and appreciation for all the participants. Language Lumina 2k25 proved to be a vibrant and enriching experience that celebrated the beauty of language and inspired students to hone their literary abilities.
சிறப்பாகத் திட்டமிட்டு நடத்திய தமிழ்த்துறை தமிழர் நாகரிகம் மற்றும் பண்பாடு சிறப்புடன் உள்ளதா? சீர் கெட்டுப்போனதா? என்ற தலைப்பில் விவாதப் போட்டியை ஒழுங்கு செய்தது.
இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் மாணவர்கள் ஆர்வமுடன் கலந்து கொண்டு தங்கள் கருத்துகளை வெளிப்படுத்தினர். சிலர் தமிழர் நாகரிகமும் பண்பாடும் இன்றும் சிறப்புடன் தொடர்கின்றன என்று வலியுறுத்தினார்கள். அவர்கள், தமிழர் வாழ்க்கை முறையில் காணப்படும் அன்பு, ஒற்றுமை, கலாச்சாரம், கலை, இலக்கியம் போன்றவை இன்னும் உலகளவில் பெருமை சேர்த்துவருவதாகக் குறிப்பிட்டனர்.
மற்றொருபக்கம், சிலர் காலப்போக்கில் நவீன வாழ்க்கைச் சுழலில் பல பாரம்பரியங்கள் சீர்குலைந்துவிட்டதாகவும், மேற்கத்திய கலாச்சாரத்தின் தாக்கம் காரணமாக சில பழக்கவழக்கங்கள் மங்கிவிட்டதாகவும் வாதிட்டனர்.
விவாதத்தில் மாணவர்கள் பல்வேறு ஆதாரங்களையும் எடுத்துக்காட்டுகளையும் கொண்டு தங்கள் கருத்துகளை வலியுறுத்தினர். இது அனைவருக்கும் சிந்திக்கத் தூண்டும் வகையில் அமைந்தது.
இறுதியில், நடுவர் குழுவினர் மாணவர்களின் தரப்பினைப் பாராட்டினர். நிகழ்ச்சி வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவு பெற்றது.
