Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities in college are structured programs and experiences that support the overall development of students outside their formal academic curriculum. These activities are designed to enhance the educational experience by developing important life skills, promoting personal growth, and encouraging social interaction.

Co-curricular activities are non-academic pursuits that complement the curriculum and contribute to the holistic development of students. These are not graded like academic courses but are often considered essential for building a well-rounded personality.

FRESHERS INDUCTION PROGRAM 2025

The Freshers’ Induction Program for the academic year 2025-2026 was held on 9th July 2025 in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and warm hospitality. The event aimed to welcome and orient the new batch of students into the academic and cultural life of the institution.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of discipline, learning, and personal growth during the college journey. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest – Mr. Madurai Ramakrishnan, a well-known Motivational Speaker, Life Counsellor, Lyricist, Writer, and Tamil Researcher.

In his inspiring keynote address, Mr. Ramakrishnan encouraged students to believe in themselves, set clear goals, and value their roots and culture while embracing modern education.  His words left a lasting impact on the freshers, motivating them to approach college life with confidence and commitment.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, and organizing committee. Overall, the induction program set a positive and energetic tone for the new academic journey of the freshers.

Workshop: “Uses of BI Tools in Business Purpose”
The Department of Business Administration organized a one-day workshop on “Uses of BI Tools in Business Purpose” on 30/06/2025 at B.Sc & BCA Lab with the objective of enriching students’ knowledge on Business Intelligence (BI) and its practical applications in the business world.

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. S. Vinoth Kumar, Technical Trainer, FIIT FORMACTION Pvt. Ltd., who shared his expertise on the relevance and application of BI tools in contemporary business decision-making.

Mr. Vinoth Kumar conducted an engaging and insightful session The event saw enthusiastic participation from BBA students and faculty members, who expressed great interest in learning more about data analytics and business intelligence technologies.

The workshop was a valuable learning experience and aligned with the department’s vision to provide industry-relevant exposure to students in the domain of business and technology.


 

Workshop: “Data Analytics Used in Finance”

The Department of Commerce (B.Com) organized a one-day workshop on “Data Analytics Used in Finance” on 30/06/2025 at B.Sc & BCA lab, aiming to enhance students’ understanding of the growing role of data analytics in financial decision-making and business forecasting.

The session was conducted by Mr. P. Mugilvannan, Software Trainer, FIIT FORMACTION Pvt. Ltd., who brought his technical expertise and practical insights to the workshop.

The workshop was highly interactive and included hands-on activities that enabled students to gain practical exposure to real-time data handling and analysis. The resource person emphasized the importance of data literacy for finance professionals in today’s competitive job market.

Organizes a Seminar on

How to Start and Scale Digital Marketing Agency?

The Department of Commerce organised seminar on How to start and Scale Digital Marketing Agency? Started on the 4th July 2025 with the inaugural session. The inaugural session was conducted at the Seminar Hall. The inaugural session was wonderfully and smoothly conducted with the cooperation of all the faculties and student coordinators present for the event. The Guest Speaker for the event for Mr.Selvaraj and Mr.Rudresh. Mr.Selvaraj shared his knowledge and expertise in the field of Entrepreneurship through a wonderful and informative presentation which consisted of various perspectives and information on entrepreneurship, who is an entrepreneur, what is a start-up, the type of schemes provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu in developing and helping start-ups in the state and the various subsidies provided by each scheme. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session where the students and participants of the event had an opportunity to raise doubts and questions to Mr.Selvaraj. The students were able to get their doubts cleared and questions answered which led to the session being much more efficient and effective. The Q&A session was followed by the feedback on the session and then the vote of thanks which marked the end of day one of the seminar.

Department of BBA hosted a one-day seminar on “THE PRACTICAL WAY FOR EFFECTIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP” on July 4, 2025. The purpose of the event was to give students useful insights into the startup industry and to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit in them. Mr. Ashanth Prajesh, a successful entrepreneur and mentor with extensive experience in fostering startup companies, led the session.

The seminar was organized to raise basic awareness of entrepreneurial concepts and to enable students to identify and learn how to make a mindset to take up entrepreneurship as a career. The facilitator introduced the concept of entrepreneurship by focusing on myths related to it and the different aspects of entrepreneurship such as entrepreneurs are born not made, entrepreneur fit an ideal profile, all you need is money to be an entrepreneur, all you need is luck to be an entrepreneur and another is that great idea is the only ingredient in a recipe for business. He mentioned that the reason that people do not start their new ventures in a country like India is due to non-awareness amongst the population of India and decides to go for jobs in private or government sector so as to minimize the risk. Sir explained in detail about the various attributes of successful entrepreneurs such as drive, communication skills and technical skills. The concept was further infused with a power point presentation that spoke about the startup business in India Followed by a discussion on contemporary business environment prevailing in the country

Mr Ashant Prajesh engaging presentation and real-life examples inspired the students and provided them with valuable insights into the world of entrepreneurship. The seminar has undoubtedly ignited the entrepreneurial spirit among the students and equipped them with the necessary knowledge and skills to embark on their startup journeys.
